Dr. Jessica Horst is interested in many aspects of early cognitive development. She combines experimental work on langauge acquisition and categorisation with interests in computational modelling. She has shown, for example, how young children's language and categorization behaviour emerges as the product of the interaction between their previous experience and the specifics of the task.
