The Sussex AutoBat

The Sussex AutoBat is a custom-built and programmable ultrasound synthesiser that is designed to simulate bat vocalisations. So far our work with the AutoBat has focused on simulating bat social calls for two main applications: as an acoustic lure to attract bats to mist nets, surveying Bechstein's bats, radio-tracking sympatric species and to investigate behavioural responses to social calls.
