Welcome to the website of the Developmental Cell Biology Masters course at the University of Sussex.

Developmental cell biology lies at the core of our understanding of how organisms develop from stem cells through to adults. This MSc program offers both practical and theoretical training in aspects of cell and molecular biology as well as molecular genetics and how they can be used to understand development. The course concentrates on key molecular techniques involving the production and analysis of transgenic animals, cell signalling and stem cell development, the control of cell proliferation and high resolution cell imaging using state of the art facilities. This one year Masters Course (MSc) or two term Diploma in Developmental Cell Biology is open to graduates, or those with relevant experience, in areas of Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Chemistry or Medicine. A large part of the degree is devoted to a research project, undertaken in the School of Life Sciences or the Oncology and Neuroscience Groups in Brighton and Sussex Medical School where you will be a member of a research group undertaking cutting edge research .

Many of our graduates go on successfully to study for PhDs at Sussex and other Universities. Please see the employment page for some examples.
