Adaptive evolution in bacteria I am using McDonald-Kreitman tests to look for evidence of adaptive evolution in protein-coding sequences from bacteria. I plan to compare housekeeping genes with genes that may be exposed to the immune system of the host and thus may be likely to be rapidly evolving. |
